Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-08-24

This blog has no sign-up and no login. There is no form here that asks for your name, contact details, or payment information. What follows is everything else that moves.

1. Server access logs

The web server (Caddy) records the time of each request, the path requested, the response code, the browser User-Agent, and the originating IP address. These are read only to confirm the site is up and to block abuse.

Logs are discarded after 30 days. Before that, once the total exceeds about 50 MB, the oldest records are deleted automatically. They are not shared with anyone.

2. Visit statistics — Google Analytics 4

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-S4PK5EG40C) to see which posts get read, where readers arrive from, and whether anyone comes back.

To do that, Google stores cookies (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) in your browser and groups repeat visits from the same browser together. Google anonymizes IP addresses at collection; the operator of this blog cannot see an individual visitor’s IP.

What is collected: the page path, the referrer, device and browser type, and an approximate country/region/city inferred from the IP address. No precise location, name, or contact detail is collected.

Retention is set to 14 months for both event and user data. Google Signals, which would feed ad personalization, and User-ID are both left off.

3. How to refuse cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — Chrome under Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, Safari under Settings → Privacy.

To block Google Analytics specifically, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Blocking every cookie still leaves the posts fully readable. Nothing on this site depends on them.

4. Sharing and processors

Collected information is never sold or handed to third parties for advertising.

Within the scope described above, data is transferred to and processed by Google LLC (United States). The purposes and fields are exactly those listed in each section.

5. Contact and changes
